    Small towns and enemies to lovers make the sweetest of stories. Yeah I know the title is Sweetened, but no extra is needed. This story is perfect without it.

    Jake Maynard had plans for the land next to his. Big plans. Plans thwarted by city girl Lainey Green when she managed to get in the winning bid. The fireworks had begun before they ever met. And when they meet? Game on. All out war commences with sharp dialogue and pranks consisting of alpacas, amphibians, sand and showers. Oh, the shower. Swoon.

    It's hard to hold onto anger when you come to know someone, and the same is true for Jake and Lainey. Those preconceived notions disappear in the face of fact. And it's also true that love often finds you when you aren't looking for it, and neither Jake nor Lainey had love scheduled in their very busy life plans.

    This is the fifth book in the Severton Search and Rescue series, and it ties into Dyer's Callaghan Green series. I enjoy it when authors do this allowing for views into their established worlds.

    Sweetened is a pure comfort read and one sure to leave you with a smile long after you've finished.

    This is such a a sweet and fun story. Jake not only has a beautiful body and so handsome but he has the personality that wraps it up all all together in a nice package. Lainey is the woman who is strong and determined to make it on her own and prove her worth. Together these two butt heads and end up creating fireworks. It is an enemies to lovers story but it’s so much more.

    Jake has been the local playboy for a long time or so everyone thinks. He has the goods to prove it but he’s a hard worker and is doing so much to help the community.
    Lainey has her own agenda and is doing her best to help the community.
    This is a story of what happens when we stop and put our preconceived ideas aside and really look at each other.
    Aside from a great love story we get some from alpacas, nosey neighbors and get together with some of our favorite characters from past stories. Don’t worry it’s a standalone. However, once you read this I’m sure you’ll want to go back and check this authors other books. They all so fabulous!

    If you’re looking for a sweet story(pun intended) with depth then this is the book for you. This is a place you just don’t want to read about you’ll want to live there! Well I do!

    I have been looking forward to Jake Maynard's story for a long time and Annie Dyer did not disappoint!

    Jake and Lainey start off as enemies and the banter (and pranks) are both wicked and hilarious. Their chemistry is strong but there is so much animosity between the two there seems like they will never find common ground...until one kiss leads to a reluctant friendship and so much more.

    This book has it all- a great small town feeling, steamy, steamy times, and all the fun that only can happen when the Maynards get together. Jake Maynard was well worth the wait!

    I knew this book was going a great one. The tension between Jake and Lainey had been building up through multiple books. Enemies to lovers is an understatement. Jovial, easy going Jake isn’t quite as happy go lucky in this one. Some of the things he got onto his cousin Zack for are coming back on him. Karma.

    Jake had his eye on the neighboring property. The one snatched up by Lainey Green, a cousin of the Callaghan gang. People expect him to just get along with her. No way. It’s a shame since they have so much in common. If only they could learn to get along. This was a wonderful, low angst read.

    It was wonderful to return to the town of Severton, and catch up with old friends. I can’t wait to see what happens with them in the future. Not only do I recommend this book, but the whole series.

    Saucy, spicy read that's full of wit. A bit of enemies to lovers with small town charm.

    Lainey is starting up her own business...away from the city so her patients can feel safe and focused. What she didn't know what that she had bought the farm next to her neighbor, Jake, right out from under him...this caused a bit of animosity from him.

    But, these two personalities couldn't stay angry long...and soon the banter/pranks represented a bit of fun...close proximity maybe helping the relationship heat up a bit.

    I appreciated the wit and banter of this book so much. I also appreciated how both characters are so very driven, caring, and compassionate. I love the small town gossip and the strong family ties. Really quick pace, page turning read.

    I loved this addition to Severton (even though it can be read as a stand alone I suggest reading the series in order), as we not only get more Maynard family antics but also some from the Callaghan cousins. Jake was upset that Lainey bought the farm he wanted and didn't hide his displeasure. I loved how Lainey was such a strong woman and didn't hold her punches with Jake. Severton is such a special small town and I can't wait to visit this place again!

    I have loved all the Severton series and have been waiting for Jake’s story. Fun sexy town flirt Jake is also a hard worker. He wanted to buy the farm nest to his but Lainey got it. He doesn’t hide his displeasure in the situation. The two definitely butt heads but have great chemistry. Loved this story and getting to see other characters again from this and the Callahan series. You don’t have to read the other books as this is a stand alone but you will definitely want to meet everyone. Cant wait for more from this author.

    Jake was always my favourite and finally I got my hands on his story and what a story it was!

    Jake's the town Romeo, well so he likes everyone to believe! There isn't a female out their that Jake can't charm until Lainey Green arrives!

    Jake is annoyed, he wanted the next door farm but it was snapped up by one Lainey Green! Jake and Lainey have a love/hate thing going on! But the minute they meet for the first time the sparks are flying!

    I loved the practical jokes they played on each other, they were so much fun and had me laughing so much! Their banter was so good and their chemistry was of the charts! So hot!

    I loved the little glimpses of Imogen that we got too and I am even more excited for her book! I loved that Sweetened tied in the Callaghan world!

    It was the perfect ending to the Maynard branch of the series but I am excited that we aren't leaving Severton yet! I have so much love for these characters and this series! I am really hoping that we haven't seen the last of Marley, Will and Ollie!

    Thoroughly enjoyed this book, always wanted to know what was going on with Jake and his alpacas. (That sounds like a 60s band name lol)

    This book takes us back to Severton a fictional town not far from me, populated by some interesting characters from Gran who makes gin to Sadie Grace who is a right royal terror. We meet the couples we got to know in the previous books, Sleighed, Stirred, Smouldered and Shaken. We get to find out more about the intrigue and investigations that have been woven through the series. We also get to meet someone the characters from the Callaghan Green because Lainey is their cousin.

    I'm not going to tell you any more, I just reread the others in preparation for this one, It was brilliant being back in their world.

    Thank you Annie, I can't wait to read what you come up with next
